Which standards matter most in scaffolding?
The core standards are EN 12810 (prefabricated facade scaffolds), EN 12811 (working scaffolds, load classes), EN 12812 (shoring) and the DIN 4420 series (working and protective scaffolds). For safe use, the German TRBS 2121 also applies.
What is the difference between a working and a protective scaffold?
A working scaffold is a workplace and storage area for people and materials. A protective scaffold guards against falls (catch / roof-edge scaffold) or against falling objects (protective fan).
